Rajah stood between the world and her babies when no one stood for her. She carried responsibility, fear, and a quiet strength only a mama knows. 🤍

Rajah is only 2 years old, just 26 tiny pounds, yet she carried the weight of motherhood with quiet bravery. She did what mamas do best — she protected her puppies with her whole heart. Her babies are safe now. They’re loved. They’re starting their new lives.

And Rajah… waits.

She’s a gentle soul who melts into human touch, especially with children, finding comfort in kind hands and soft voices. But she’s shy — the kind of shy that comes from having to be strong for too long. The kind that just needs patience, consistency, and someone who won’t disappear when things get quiet.

Rajah doesn’t need adventures or perfection.
She needs a promise. A promised filled with a warm couch and a fire glowing on cold winter nights— finally feeling loved enough to rest.

She showed up for her puppies without question. Now she’s hoping someone will choose her the same way.

HUSKY IN DISGUISE 🎭🤪

Smiley Leila, our 5-year-old Husky was pulled to safety after the roof collapsed at Newark Animal Shelter. Despite losing her home, and then her kennel, she stayed resilient through it all hoping her forever home is somewhere out there.

Leila is the least husky-like husky you’ll ever meet—she’d much rather snuggle on the couch than conquer the great outdoors. Don’t let her homebody personality fool you… she’s still very much a husky when it comes to singing through the bad days, good days, and fun days. Except, expect a full conversation about her day when you get home from work, and why dinner should’ve been served already. 🎶😄

Sweet, silly, housebroken, and endlessly affectionate, Leila is looking for a cozy home, loving humans, and a family, even with some human siblings who will listen to her stories.📚

Couch husky. Professional cuddler. Expert conversationalist.

Grizzly’s story isn’t just about one dog — it’s about what happens when a rescue team and a foster family refuse to give up as they continue to search for Grizzly’s forever family…✨🐾

From the very beginning, Grizzly needed more than a safe place to land. He needed people willing to see past his silly quirks and past the moments where progress felt slow. And that’s exactly what he got. A rescue team and foster family showing up behind the scenes — advocating, problem-solving, cheering on every small win, putting in the quiet, daily work that so often goes unseen.

Together, Grizzly has been learning confidence, mastering commands and skills, and learning how to pause, enjoying the world around him. Grizzly has been doing something incredible — proving, again and again, that he is an amazing dog.

Not perfect. Not effortless. But loyal, trying, resilient, and full of so much potential for the right person willing to give him a chance.

This is what rescue looks like. Growing confidence. Teamwork. Patience. Belief. And a dog who is slowly realizing he doesn’t have to prove his worth taking on new adventures— Turns out, he’s had all those things all along.

✨ The Last Two Lives of 2025. The First Hope of 2026. ✨

Today, on New Year’s Eve, as the clock ticked down and most people were preparing to celebrate tonight, Leila and Atlas were waiting inside Newark Animal Shelter—one of the many dogs displaced after the devastating roof collapse.

Leila, a 5-year-old Husky, who recently found herself at the shelter after losing her home, and Atlas, a 1-year-old Shepherd still so young and unsure of what the world had just taken from him.

As fireworks prepare to light the sky, these two became our final rescues of 2025. The last hands we reached for together. The last promises we made before the year closed.

They’re not ringing in the new year with noise or champagne—
They’re ringing it in with second chances, warm beds, and the first deep breath of safety.

Leila and Atlas are more than just the end of one year.
They are the reason we step into 2026 hopeful, determined, and ready to keep going. They are the 239th and 240th reasons we will keep going.

Two more lives saved.
Two futures rewritten.
And the perfect reminder of why we do this—right up until the very last moment. 🐾✨
