Are you a high school student who loves dogs and wants to make a real impact in your community? Teen Paws is Southern Paws’ volunteer program designed specifically for motivated teens who want to help rescue dogs—while earning volunteer hours for school, clubs, and graduation requirements.

This isn’t busywork. Teen Paws volunteers are an important part of our rescue mission.

What Is Teen Paws?

Teen Paws empowers students ages 15–18 to get hands-on experience in animal rescue, advocacy, and community service. Through supervised volunteer opportunities, education, and events, teens learn responsibility, teamwork, and leadership—while helping dogs find their forever homes.

What You’ll Do

As a Teen Paws volunteer, you may help with:

• 🐶 Adoption events and dog handling (with training)

• 📣 Sharing dog stories and educating the public

• 🧼 Assisting with event setup, cleanup, and organization

• 💙 Supporting fundraising and community outreach projects

All activities are supervised by experienced Southern Paws staff and volunteers, with safety as our top priority.

Who Can Join?

• High school students ages 15–18

• Completion of the Teen Paws application

• Attendance at a required orientation

• Parent or guardian consent
